Leadership and Outreach

Community Outreach and Engagement:

I chair the Community Outreach and Engagement Committee for the Statistics Department at the University of Chicago. We organize volunteer events for department members to encourage an inclusive department culture and to help better serve our broader community. Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to join in outreach events. We aim to help students connect with faculty and to promote a culture of service within the department.

We partner with the Ronald McDonald House (Comer Children's Hospital) to provide meals for families with children in the hospital, with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which serves over 700 local food banks, with the Night Ministry, which serves the unhoused, and with the Forest Preserves of Cook County to help maintain our local parks.

I also volunteer monthly at build days sponsored by the Chicago chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which aims to provide affordable housing, and to support neighborhood growth, on the south side of Chicago.

Track and Cross Country Coaching

I am an assistant coach at Kenwood Academy High School, where I coach boys track (distance) and coach boys cross-country. Meet results are available here (track) and here (cross country).

Congratulations to the Broncos for winning the indoor track Chicago city championship , outdoor city championship, and sectional championship! Congratulations to the girls for taking home Kenwood's first state trophy!

I also help organize a weekly mile training program with the Chicago Area Runner's Association. The program is open to runners at all levels, is professionally coached, and meets every Tuesday at 6:30 pm at the Lakeshore track. Click here to join us!
